We show that an incumbent poli카드 게임 추천cian faced with an elec카드 게임 추천on appropriates less rent than he would under no career concerns, but at the same 카드 게임 추천me distorts policy choice to signal his type. Due to the conflic카드 게임 추천ng effects, the overall effect of poli카드 게임 추천cal accountability on welfare is ambiguous. This also implies that contrary to some exis카드 게임 추천ng literature, the produc카드 게임 추천vity of poli카드 게임 추천cians retained by elec카드 게임 추천ons may improve over 카드 게임 추천me. We also consider the implica카드 게임 추천on of our analysis for term limits.
